Sophie Calle (born in 1953)  is a French photographer who travelled for seven years. Once returning returned to Paris in 1979, she wished to acquaint herself with both with the city and people of Paris again to acquaint herself too.To document this she used photographs as a proof.  Her work is seen to be rather conceptual due to the fact that the idea behind the art had more meaning than the finished piece of work. She also has pieces of installation art. “Her work frequently depicts human vulnerability, and examines identity and intimacy.”
